Quberu was founded by Sree Tangella, an experienced tech and telecom entrepreneur and earlier in his career, a founder of Altai Technologies and Flow Mobile. He was inspired to start Quberu because of the challenges he faced in international procurement when implementing telecom networks and sourcing products globally. Sree tragically passed away in early 2019, but the team continues to be inspired by him and is dedicated to realizing his dream of transforming international trade.

Quberu’s team is led by U.S. veterans of financial institutions and technology companies, with deep experience in compliance and global trade.

Our CEO, Peter Bass, is a trusted adviser on financial regulation for leading financial institutions. He was previously Managing Director at Promontory Financial Group, where he provided advice to global money center banks on compliance issues related to BSA/AML, due diligence examination and enforcement remediation. Previously, he was a vice president at Goldman Sachs, serving as chief of staff to the firm’s co-president and co-chief operating officer. He also served for ten years at the U.S. Department of State and the National Security Council.

Our Chief Compliance Officer, Jonathan Brockmeier, is a seasoned attorney with experience in payments, BSA/AML, anti-corruption, and international compliance.

Our Chief Product Officer, Bindhu Tangella, has over 20 years of experience in enterprise software design, product management and product development. Prior to joining Quberu, Bindhu was VP of Professional Services at Partsriver, Inc., responsible for end-to-end design and implementation of e-procurement and item master management solutions for several medium and large enterprise companies.
